about

Oneiros Suite (words):

Part I

he's been touched by the sandman
at the usual melancholy of night
an artist in poverty
all inspiration has gone
so the mirage comes

Part II

a perfect model exposes his shape
a source so unique
he was painting every little detail
time does never reach
the world of dreaming

Part III

he wants so more
oh, he's obsessed
with that beautiful ilusion
he fell in love with a distant fantasy

although, as any dream script
the scene skips as his desire enhances

Part IV

silence
only the deep breathing
of two lurid lovers
the pretty face
and the innocence
then a half touch leads
the imagination to finish the job
as gently lips meets her startled bones

Part V

but there were secrets on her pale skin
a skin so white in a room so dark
a whisper so warm on a bed so sad
the red hair... burning like a fiery ghost on a polaroid
while pointy nails are scratching his back
he's turning into a slave and don't even know
and this gloomy dream repeats at least three times
everytime he woke up confused and alone

Part VI

until that grey morning
when a silhouette ahead
did blow a distant voice
it said:
"i'm wee willie winkie
and i'm your lullaby
they call me the sandman
who puff your eyes after the winter wine
moving through carcosa
and the realm of morpheus
sleep
visions
night scenes
pleasure & nightmares
i am oneiros
and i can bring who you want
but keep this in your mind:
i am also ole-luk-oie
and only two stories i know
you have already sealed a pact with me
from now on you will never sense
if you're still awake or not"

written by L. Borgia Rossetti

Part VII

"Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow —
You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream."

E. A. Poe (1809-1849), A Dream Within a Dream
